Course overview
Data Governance and Compliance provide a framework of decision rights and accountability to guide the management of information throughout its lifecycle. This includes defining processes, roles, standards, and metrics that ensure information is used effectively and efficiently to achieve organizational goals. The introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in 2018 marked a significant shift in global privacy and data protection practices.
This course offers participants a comprehensive understanding of Data Governance, Privacy, and Data Protection, equipping them with practical skills to manage, plan, and deliver the growing volume of organizational data. It explores international best practices, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity standards. Topics covered include ISACA standards, ISO 8000, data analysis, big data, master data management (MDM), metadata management, GDPR compliance, and high-profile case studies such as the Facebook-Cambridge Analytica data breach.
Through group and individual exercises, participants will learn how to apply best practices to enhance data management processes within their organizations.
