Process Management: Mapping & Improvement

Course overview

A picture is often worth a thousand words—this is particularly true when it comes to understanding and enhancing processes. The art and science of process mapping play a crucial role in this area. This course is designed to help participants develop process mapping skills, teaching them various approaches from basic flowcharts to advanced value stream mapping. Participants will explore different process assessments and gain insights into Toyota's renowned Lean principles, applying these concepts to improve processes in both service and manufacturing environments.

Training methodology

The course will actively engage participants in both simple and complex process mapping exercises. Real-world case studies and scenarios will challenge participants to apply their learning. Lectures, group discussions, and presentations will be utilized to achieve the course objectives and ensure practical application of the concepts.

Target competencies

  • Process Mapping
  • Process Improvement Methodologies
  • Lean Application
  • Process Measurement
  • Benchmarking

Course objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Define processes and explain their significance in an organization’s operations.
  • Identify international standards for process management approaches.
  • Explore various methodologies for process assessments.
  • Create process analysis charts and process maps to drive improvement.
  • Justify the importance of measuring processes as part of a continuous improvement strategy.
